Mesa Academy Students Win Math Competition
On Saturday, April 14th, the Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies hosted the Mesa Public Schools 6th - Grade Math Challenge. Twelve math teams from area schools competed in the annual competition. The teams, each comprised of four students, competed in three individual rounds, which included Geometry, Equations and Expressions and General Math, one Team Round, and a Speed Round, which included the top two scoring students from each team.
Rohan Domenguez, Lily Walker, Ava Lindman and Jayden Le competed for the Academy. MAAS took first place in the Team Round and won the overall competition. Individually, each of the students won a place in at least one category. Lily Walker won the overall individual award, which was the total of the individual rounds.
