Mr. Reilly is in his twentieth year as an Individuals and Societies Teacher and is looking forward to his eighth year at the Academy. He graduated from Syracuse University Cum Laud and earned additional post-baccalaureate degrees from Utica College and the University of Phoenix. A life long runner, Mr. Reilly now jogs and hikes the trails of the Tonto National Forest.
Born in 1957 on Long Island, New York to a large Irish family, Mr. Reilly fell in love with his beloved New York Yankees at first sight in 1964. Mr. Reilly then moved to Arizona in 1996 and together with his wife of twenty-eight years has enjoyed the Sonoran Desert lifestyle. He has been an avid reader of the New York Times and historical non-fiction while supporting independent book stores like Changing Hands and Guidon Books.
Possessing a highly qualified certification in three fields: History, English and Political Science, including gifted education training while also attaining endorsements in Middle School and Secondary Social Studies, Mr. Reilly appreciates that involving a child in activities that encourage brain-based development,based on the seven intelligences, can enhance retention and lead to the highest levels of comprehension.
