Raised in Zion, Illinois, Mr. Nowotarski spent two years of undergraduate study at Trinity Bible College where he met his future wife Melody (a native Arizonan). Tired of shoveling snow, scraping ice off frozen windshields and sitting on cold vinyl car seats he headed to sunny Arizona where he received his BA in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona. He went on to earn his MA from NAU and acquired an additional 60 credit hrs. through Ottawa University.
Mr. Nowotarski has been teaching grades 4 – 6 for many years – two in Antioch, Illinois, and the rest in Arizona. This year marks his third year as a fellow Knight at Mesa Academy. He is appreciative of the warm welcome and kindness he has received from the Mesa Academy family in making this such a smooth transition. Prior to this, he enjoyed serving 24 years at Falcon Hill Elementary, and several years at Ishikawa and Wilson Elementary - years he will always treasure. He is most proud of the growth and success of students who have passed through his classroom and seeing them not settle for mediocrity, but continue to raise the bar of character and achievement for themselves.
Mr. Nowotarski is married. His lovely wife Melody retired this year from the Chandler School District. Besides classroom teaching he celebrates faith, family & friends, fitness, and Afghan Hounds Graceland & Nash. He is a loyal Wildcat fan who looks forward to each year’s rivalry with ASU.
