Limited administrative services available during winter break

District offices are closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 1, with limited administrative services available Jan. 2-4. Movie ticket sales will be unavailable Jan. 2.

Human resources is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 2-3, and 7:30 a.m to 3:45 p.m. Jan. 4. Payroll is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2-3, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Jan. 4. HR will close at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21. 

Schools are back in session Monday, Jan. 7.

Help students and lower your tax bill with the ECA tax credit

Extracurricular Activity (ECA) contributions support district students in everything from field trips to testing fees for SAT, ACT, AP and more. Help a student and possibly lower your tax bill with the dollar-for-dollar ECA state tax credit. An individual may contribute up to $200, and a couple filing jointly can contribute up to $400. Donate by mail, at district schools through Friday, Dec. 21, or at the Administrative Services Center. You can also contribute online through MPS web pay.

Contact Carol Alexander in student activities at 480-472-0133 for guidance. To be eligible for the 2018 tax credit, your contribution must be received or postmarked by April 15, 2019.

Check pay stubs and tax forms on iVisions

Log in to the iVisions employee self-service portal to view pay stubs, tax withholding information, accrued vacation and sick pay, and more. Access your portal using your active directory login. Forgot your login? Call the information systems help desk at 480-472-0044 to reset it.

Plan for retirement

Is retirement in the horizon? Plan to attend a 90-minute Arizona State Retirement System meeting. All meetings are held on the third floor of the Administrative Services Center, 63 E. Main St., Mesa.

Route 3 - Retiring within the next three years
Wednesday, Feb. 27, 3:30 p.m.

Route 4 - Retiring within the next year
Thursday, Feb. 28, 3:30 p.m.

Register for a meeting on the human resources webpage. Employees who do not have internet access may use the computers in the human resources lobby or seek assistance at their work site. Hurry, meetings fill up quickly!

Employees hired to work at least 20 weeks and at least 20 hours per week are required to enroll in ASRS. Contributions are set up automatically through payroll deduction for eligible employees.

It is important to establish an online ASRS account to ensure your contributions are correctly posted. Enrollees can review account statements, use benefit estimation tools and manage beneficiary information. Visit the ASRS resource page to learn more and build your retirement timeline.

Volunteer for the Academic Decathlon

The 35th annual Region IV Academic Decathlon is Feb. 1-2 at Red Mountain High School, and help is needed. 

Volunteer to judge the speech and interview portion 4-9 p.m. Feb. 1. Training and dinner is provided. Test proctors are also needed 7 a.m. to noon Feb. 2. This year's theme is "The 1960s - a Transformational Decade."

Customer service rockstars

Satisfied customers continue to take time to recognize school and district staff for stellar customer service. The schools and departments that received the most responses in November were:

  • Lindbergh Elementary, 10 responses
  • Bush and Jefferson elementary schools (tie), 4 responses
  • Crismon Elementary and Student Records (tie), 3 responses

Customers praised fantastic service from staff, including this comment from a parent at Johnson Elementary: "Sandy and Nan are very helpful and kind! I appreciate all their help."
