Complementary Color Paintings
5th Grade
Students learned about complementary colors; that they are across from each
other through the center of the color wheel, that they make each other appear
brighter when used side-by-side, and that when mixed, they create brown. A string
was first dipped into India ink and dragged across the paper to create the black
line design. Complementary colors were applied in pairs however the line design
inspired the student.
