Irving Elementary
People in Action - 6th Grade
Students first learned about correct body proportions and created
quick 30 second gesture drawings of a variety of action poses modeled by the
students. Students then chose their best sketch and created an outline drawing
of the person in action, an organic shape. Next, students created rhythm and
movement by repeating and rotating the figure. Next, students created pattern
by repeating lines and geometric and free-form shapes. Finally, students used
warm and cool colors to create contrast of the person in action and the background.
The results are quite fun!
