Grade 5 - Aboriginal Bark Painting

Students explored the art work of Aboriginal Artists in Australia including rock paintings, bark paintings, x-ray paintings and Dreamings. Students selected an animal, drew the basic shape and filled it with patterns of lines. This represented the x-ray painting technique. Students then used colors available to the aboriginal artists and painted dots around their animals. This resembled the technique seen in the Dreamings painting.
