7th Grade - Integrated Science I - SC07:

  • Holt Science and Technology Home Page - (free site w/ no password needed). The Publishers Holt, Rinehart, and Winston published their website to complement their textbooks for life science, earth science, and physical science. This site offers a wide variety of resources including chapter specific activities and review, online quizzes, printable worksheets, links, and more! To access chapter specific resources click on "Find your Chapter" then use the drop down menus that correspond to the color of the textbook (blue, green, or red)
* Note: The printable worksheets available on this site are in PDF format. Text from PDF documents can be copied and pasted into freeware such as ReadPlease. To do this, click on the “select” tool located directly above the document before attempting to highlight the text. Once highlighted and copied, paste into ReadPlease to have the information read aloud.
  • SciLinks - More online resources directly related to chapters within your Holt Science and Technology textbook. When you see a small red "SciLinks" box within a chapter, use the code found in the box to access educational activities related to the topic being studied.

    * Note: registration is free, and the site offers the option to login as a “guest” if you choose not to register. Use the drop-down menu to choose how you enter the site. Once logged in, enter the SciLinks code given in your book to access activities.

  • GO.HRW.com - Holt, Rinehart, and Winston Home Page
    Similar to SciLinks, gohrw.com offers resources to compliment the Science in Action sections of your textbook. Look for the small Current Science box located in the right hand corner of the blue pages. Type the keyword given by your textbook into the search box of HRW’s home page. Once you click “go”, you’ll be taken to the related article.

    * Note: These articles are not compatible with text-to-speech freeware such as ReadPlease.

  • Holt Online Learning - (password required. Please contact your teacher for the login name and password for your class.) Access an online version of your text that includes valuable features such as interactive activities, practice quizzes, and SciLink links appropriate for each section. An audio version in both English and Spanish is also available.

    * Note: The pages of the online book are not compatible with freeware such as ReadPlease. However, other areas of the site are. If text can be copied, it can be pasted into ReadPlease and read back to the user.

9th Grade - Essential Elements of Science - SC09:

  • CPO.com - main website for the Essential Elements of Science book : Foundations of Physical Science
  • Online Web Labs - Developed by CPO Science, these online acivities cover concepts from the text book in an easy to use interactive format. The text is easily copied and pasted into ReadPlease if needed.
  • Multimedia Physics Studio - “large collection of GIF animations and QuickTime movies designed to demonstrate physics principles in a visual manner. Each animation is accompanied by explanations and links to further information”. Can be used w/ ReadPlease. Choose from many topics.
  • Fun Science Links - science web links from all over the internet, for both teachers and students

  • Prentice Hall Biology Student Home Page - This site offers supports for each chapter, including online chapter quizzes, related news articles and "active art", which are animated representations of experiments and concepts related to that chapter.
    • To access the online version of the text with complete audio support and downloadable MP3 files, click on the SuccessNet link located in the margin on the left side of the page. (Password required: Talk to your classroom teacher regarding the password that's required to access these advanced supports)
