Welcome to the Assistive Technology webpage! I hope you find the information we've provided useful in your quest to differentiate instruction for all learners in your classroom.
I have worked for Mesa Public Schools in Special Education for approximately 18 years, and have been an assistive technology specialist since 2006. I graduated from Arizona State University with a BAE in Special Education and hold a K-12 teaching certificate. Currently, I am attending ASU as a graduate student in the Educational Technology program, with a projected graduation date of May 2017. As a special education teacher and assistive technology specialist with Mesa Public Schools, I consult with site-based teams to determine appropriate AT supports and strategies for individual students with IEPs or 504 plans, and provide collaboration related to implementation of district adopted technology, such as Mesa's recent 1:1 initiative. Our department works with teams to assist with acquisition and implementation of resources, as well as maintain and track AT equipment and software for the Special Education Department. Please contact us if you have questions regarding assistive technology supports for your diverse learners.
Have a great school year!
