  • FreeTypingGame.net new link- Site offers a variety of games to choose from, each with different levels of difficulty. It also offers lessons and tests.

  • Keyboard challenge new link- learn the keys- goal is to put the letters on the keyboard in the correct spot.

  • Keyboard tutor new link- offers 3 main levels of practice; letters, words, and sentences. Also allows you to choose the length of practice time.

  • Peter's Online Typing Course new link- a free online typing course that goes over the principles for effective learning, typing ergonomics, and finger placement. Course contains 18 lessons and several typing exercises for you to practice.

  • Nimblefingers new link - online typing program offering beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Program includes practice exercises for typing four letter words and U.S States.

  • Touch Typing - provides online or downloadable practice lessons. One unique feature is that you can paste your own text into this program and it will turn that text into the typing lesson great for practicing typing and spelling words at the same time!

  • Dance Mat Typing -offers a free online introduction to touch typing. It consists of 4 levels with a total of 12 different stages.

  • Learn 2 Type for Kids - free once you set up an account. Lots of pop-up ads, and very dry, but consistent practice.

  • Typing Pal Online - download the demo versions of Typing Pal 5.0 and Garfield's Typing Pal. Both demos offer practice exercises, tips on ergonomics, games and much more. Note: after download and installation, select "new user" and enter a user name and create a user file. After initial visit select "Open a File" to access the user file previously created. (not all options are accessible in the demo but there is still a variety of helpful and useful activities.)

  • Good Typing - offers 27 guided lessons, with an option to set the practice lessons to a larger font. Online activity - no download required. Lessons available in English and Spanish.

  • Power Typing for Windows - this typing tutorial offers 15 skill levels. Note: this is not an online lesson. Downloading of the program is required.

  • TypingSoft.com - a site which lists shareware, freeware, and online typing tutorials. Note: shareware is offered usually for a small fee and requires downloading, freeware is free but usually requires downloading, and the online activities are free but may require the user to register.
