The student athlete must have passed all classes (minimum of 5, unless a 12th grader on track to graduate) at the end of each grading period. Student must be enrolled in five classes (unless a 12th grader on track to graduate).
The student athlete must live within the school attendance area. If the student athlete does not, he/she must have an approved open enrollment form on file and meet additional requirements set forth by the AIA (see athletic director).
A record of the student athlete's certified birth certificate or an acceptable substitute must be on file at the school.

Students enrolled in Charter Schools are eligible to compete at that Charter School. If the sport is not offered at that school, they are NOT eligible to compete at any other school while attending the Charter School.
Home Schooled students must be registered with the State Department of Education are eligible in the school district in which they reside. They must meet all district eligibility requirements
including academic requirements.
Are eligible at any of the Mesa District High Schools. Once they participate on any high school (JV or Varsity) team, they are now eligible only at that school. If they do not compete as a 9th grader on any high school team, they are eligible at any MESA DISTRICT SCHOOL upon enrollment in 10th grade with a properly approved Open Enrollment Form. Students attending a Mesa District School in 9th grade are not eligible for athletics in the 10th grade at non-Mesa District schools.
If the student becomes 19 years of age after September 1, he/she is eligible to compete for the remainder of the school year. A student athlete is only eligible for eight semesters from the time of enrolling in the 9th grade with the 7th and 8th semesters needing to be consecutive.
