You may make benefits elections when you:
- are a Newly Hired/Eligible staff (within 31 days)
- have a qualified IRS change mid-year (within 31 days), including a Special Enrollment opportunity, or
- during Open Enrollment
If you are benefits-eligible employee and not currently enrolled in the MPS medical plan, you have the opportunity to enroll during the open enrollment period, along with your eligible spouse and children. NOTE that an employee's grandchildren, child under a legal guardianship, foster child, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law are not eligible for coverage under the plan.
If you are a Classified employee of Mesa Public Schools, employed on a contract basis, you are eligible for benefits.
If you are a Certified employee of Mesa Public Schools, employed on a contract basis and work at least .75 FTE (30 hrs/wk) you are eligible for benefits.
To enroll, you must complete the online benefits enrollment within the designated enrollment opportunity.
Effective Date of your benefits
Benefits are effective as of the first day of the month following, or coinciding with, the completion of 31 days of employment.
