Brinton's  PTO purchased an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) with the help of a grant from Walmart.   Now we have the latest and best equipment if someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest. The staff has been trained in use of the AED and now has the ability to deliver early defibrillation which may save a life.  Layperson defibrillation can occur within minutes of a witnessed cardiac arrest if an AED is available. The quicker this happens, the greater the chance of survival. We are fortunate to have this equipment and training at Brinton.  The AED is in the Health Office.  If a cardiac arrest occurs when the Health Office is closed, the night custodian has a key and is trained in the use of the AED.
