Brinton Elementary is the third Mesa public school which I have proudly worked in my over 25 years with the district. I started working for the school system after my children entered kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary in the early 90’s. After six years at Lincoln, I transferred over to Eisenhower Elementary to work in 1st grade and then some years later ran the Social Studies Extension Lab for the 4th and 5th-grade students.
I have two grown daughters with families of their own. My youngest, Stephanie, lives in Mesa with her husband and two beautiful daughters and my eldest, Laura, is an Army wife that now lives in Augusta, Georgia with her husband and son.
I maintain the computers, printers, document cameras, projectors, and SmartBoards at Brinton and along with the teachers, instruct the students in keyboarding and other online instructional games in the computer lab. I also work with the Office Staff, our Title 1 Specialist, our Counselor and other staff members preparing necessary items they need for instruction or with help in whatever they require. I also write, rehearse with students, and air the morning announcements, The Black Bear News, with selected students every day. Another duty I have is the designing, writing, editing, and delivery of our monthly newsletter publication, the Brinton Bits.
Every day is a learning experience for students and adults alike and that is why I enjoy working at Brinton and with Mesa Public Schools.
