Mrs. Castillo

I am happy to be back for my 6th year as a school counselor at Brinton Elementary. I was born and raised in Arizona. I attended the University of Arizona for my bachelor’s degree in psychology. Then, I attended Arizona State University for my master’s degree in counseling, with a focus on school counseling. I enjoy hiking and being surrounded by nature, traveling, and dancing. I also enjoy relaxing at home with my husband and toddler son. Most of all, I enjoy working with elementary students and seeing their growth throughout the school year. Please feel free to call, email or stop by, I am glad to assist in any way that I can. [More...]

School Counseling Program

Vision Statement

The students at Brinton Elementary are lifelong learners and peaceful problem solvers who embrace challenges prepared to pursue excellence in education and career endeavors.

Mission Statement

Through participation in Brinton Elementary comprehensive school counseling program, all students will have access to a high quality education including explicit and equitable instruction in academic and social/emotional skills through multi-tiered support systems so they may become productive citizens committed to the betterment of their communities.

I will get to know students through teaching monthly classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling and individual counseling to promote their academic and social success.  I am there for them as someone to listen and help guide them through any problems or situations that arise.

Other roles include promoting character development, overseeing a mentoring program, promoting school attendance, and crisis response.
