Barbara Bush Visits! |

We were honored to have Mrs. Barbara Bush, the former
first lady, come to Barbara Bush Elementary school. We were priviledged
to have her pose for photos with the staff and student council.
While she was here she read Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney
to our students. She shared with us that she was like Miss Rumphius
in many ways.
For example, she said that she loved lupins.
We completed our visit with a question and answer session. To preserve
the memories of our special visit, our PTO prepared a display case
along with her portrait. Our PTO also presented Mrs. Bush with a book
created from submissions from Bush families. |
