Fifth and Sixth grade students may participate in Battle of the Books!
Teams of 3 students will compete in November, January and April. Each
team reads 4 books to prepare for each battle. They earn points by correctly
answering questions about the books. The team that has the most points after the third battle will go on to the district Battle of the Books Competition.
All of the battles and practices are held during the school day. The district and regional competitions are in the evenings or weekends.
Battle 1: November Bunnicula by James Howe; Darnell Rock Reporting

Battle 2: January The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo; Shoebag by Mary James; Sarah Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan; & Terror at the Zoo by Peg Kehret
Battle 3: April Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt; Frindle
by Andrew Clements; Number the Stars by Lois Lowry; & Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell
