Montessori Enrollment Process
Three Step Process
1) Visit our Bush Elementary School office or call (480-472-8500) to speak with our office staff to make your interest in Montessori known. Request the Montessori Parent Handbook and ask to be put on the waiting list. Note: Siblings of enrolled students are given preference on the wait list.
Read the Montessori Parent Handbook. Print and sign the parent questionnaire on page 16 of the handbook and bring it with you to your observation.
2) Call (480-472-8510) to schedule an appointment with the teacher to observe in the classroom. Observations are 30 minutes and interaction is limited to ensure minimal disruption and to allow you a chance to see how the Montessori students and teachers interact with each other and the materials/equipment. It is also a good time for you to ask yourself if you can see your child functioning well in the environment. As you observe, jot down questions and notes to discuss with the teacher at a later date or by phone or email. Make sure you turn in your signed parent questionnaire form.
Wait for step 3
3) A joint decision is made between the parent, classroom teacher, building principal and possibly the program director. You will be notified as soon as a decision is made. Upon acceptance to the Montessori Program you will need to register your child. Please contact our school registrar at (480) 472-8542 for questions concerning this last step in our enrollment process.
After a period of 9 weeks a review meeting will be scheduled to review your child's progress.
