Pre-Kindergarten Class Schedule (subject to change but we will try to keep to this routine) 8:30 Welcome, find name 8:35 Calendar, helpers, songs 8:55 Morning Work* 9:10 Outdoor Play 9:25 Drinks 9:30 Story time*, introduce project 9:50 Project 10:10 Centers 10:25 Clean up, Stack and pack 10:30 Dismissal *On Reading Buddy and Media Center days, morning work and story time will be switched. Reading buddy with Mrs. Simpson's class is generally the third Monday of the month. Media Canter is every other Tuesday. We also have activities Buddies with Mrs. Hutchins class on one Wed per month.
1 st Semester (we will focus on these things and more) Respect, Following rules and directions Sharing and caring Being polite Cut and paste with little help Hold a pencil correctly Coloring skills Colors: red, yellow, blue, green, purple, orange, brown, black Write and recognize name (Cap first and then lower case) Trace lines, numbers, shapes, some letters Know and recognize numbers 1-10 Rote count to 20 Recognize Shapes: rectangle, square, circle, oval, triangle, rhombus Phonemic awareness and pre-reading: Engine sounds (First sound of a word) Understanding the main parts of a book: Cover, spine, front and back Knowledge that we read left to right, top to bottom Rhyming words Knowledge that letters make sounds and sounds make words Days of the week Months of the year Having fun and enjoying school!!!!!
