Welcome to Room 6!

I am super excited to be your child's teacher this year! I expect to have a fantastic year and can't wait to teach and learn with all of you throughout the year. Teaching is a passion for me and I absolutely love helping children grow. I can not wait to meet all my new students this year as well as see all my returning students again! I'm really looking forward to the upcoming year.

We have 3 aids in our classroom this year-- Ms. Sydnie, Ms. Britney, and Ms. Stacey. They are an amazing help and our classroom would not run as smoothly without them! We are truly thankful for their efforts!

Getting to know me!

I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors in Special Education and Elementary Education with a SEI (structured English immersion) endorsement. I have an absolute passion for teaching and I think it shows in my every day life. I am always looking for new ways to introduce a new topic or incorporate the real world into a lesson. Classroom instruction and learning is done through real life experiences and I will often "teach in the moment" when I can.

This year I will be starting back in grad school for a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in Applied Behavior Analysis :) I am soooo incredibly excited to learn in depth about Applied Behavior Analysis and different ways of servicing my students.

I am an Arizona native, born and raised in the valley. I grew up in Chandler/Tempe and live in San Tan Valley! My family consists of my wonderful husband and blended family of 4 boys- his 2 from his previous marriage, my son from a previous relationship, and our youngest son. I am very active (you gotta be with 4 boys at home!) and hate to sit still so we are always out doing something. Whether it is bowling, hiking, swimming, cooking, or shopping (my favorite!), I am always on the move. I absolutely love baseball and the Arizona Diamondbacks, but as soon as football season starts, you can be sure I'm watching and rooting for the Cardinals.
