Welcome to the B. Bush Elementary Title I Department! I am Robin Pettinato, the Title I Specialist at Bush Elementary. My main role is to support students, teachers and parents with instruction, which includes providing training to teachers and parents, training and overseeing our instructional support staff, assessing students, coordinating testing, helping teachers with curriculum and providing resources for instruction. I also oversee the Title 1 budget/program at the school.
I am a native of Mesa and a product of Mesa Public Schools. As a student, I attended Webster, Roosevelt, Powell Jr. High, and Mesa High School. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1984 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. In 2001 I completed my Master's Degree in Education through NAU.
This year marks my 30th year with MPS. I began my teaching career in Kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary and later moved to 2nd grade. After 7 years at Lincoln I moved to Falcon Hill Elementary. During my 12 years at Falcon Hill I taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. I changed directions in 2007 and took a district position with the MPS Basic Skills Department. It was my pleasure to work with teachers at Barbara Bush and Sousa Elementary. In 2009 my position was changed to the Title 1 Specialist and I was assigned to Sousa full-time. Now that Bush has become Title 1, I am excited to begin my 6th year, serving as the Title 1 Specialist.
I look forward to working with the staff, students and parents at Bush. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding our Title I program, testing, curriculum and instruction or anything else that may come up during the year. I am happy to help in whatever ways I can. I can be easily reached by phone or email.
