The Bubonic Plague
  • Plague caused by a bacterium and characterized by the formation of buboes.

Where did it happen?
  • The horrible disease struck central Europe.

When did it happen?
  • The Bubonic Plague struck central Europe in the 14th Century.

Why did it happen?
  • A group of infected Tartars besieged a Genoese outpost on the coast.

How did it happen?
  • Infected fleas bit rats and the rats bit the people causing the people to have the infected disease that the fleas carried.

What were the damages?
  • The victim of the plague receives giant, painful swellings that appear in the victims neck, armpits, and groins. They die within 7 days.

Could this disaster have been avoided?
  • No, because back in the 14th century they did not have the technology to cure or prevent from the spreading of the plague.

What has happened since the disaster?
  • The plague disappeared and it has not returned since.
