Where did it happen?
  • The Chernobyl explosion happened in Kiev, Ukraine.

When did it happen?
  • This incident happened on the morning of April 22, 1986.

Why did it happen?
  • It happened because the reactor was poorly built and over heated shaking an uncontrolled chain reaction.

How did it happen?
  • Powers surged the core and the core melted down.

What were the damages?
  • In the accident 31 people died and 200 were seriously injured and 135,000 were removed from it.

Could this disaster have been avoided?
  • Yes, the disaster could have been avoided. Some of the mistakes were caused by the plant operators and inadequately operated by trained personnel.

What has happened since the disaster?
  • Nothing happened since the incident they have just made better technology. Since the Chernobyl disaster they have not built another nuclear power plant.
