Bubonic Plague
  • The Bubonic Plague killed 1/3 of Europe’s population. The Bubonic Plague was caused by the rats that carried the fleas.

Where did it happen?
  • The bubonic Plague occurred in Europe.

When did it happen?
  • This disaster occurred around the 1300’s.

How/Why did it happen?
  •  The Bubonic Plague was caused by a serious bacterium. Fleas that were on the rats with the disease got on a few people in Europe and from there the disease spread.

What were the damages?
  • Millions of people died.
  •  Imagine if people were trees. Forest fires are like the Bubonic Plague spreading throughout Europe.

Could this disaster have been avoided?
  • Yes, the Europeans could have kept their cities cleaner.

What has happened since the disaster?
  •  We have made antibiotics that could help if the Bubonic Plague occurred again.
