HURRICANE ANDREW
  •  Hurricane Andrew was a serious disaster. This storm happened starting in the Bahamas the support was amazing. Remember, Andrew did happen.

Where did it happen?
  • This storm happened in the Bahamas, Miami, Louisiana, and  Florida.

When did it happen?
  • The time this storm occurred was August 24,1992

How/Why did it happen?
  • It happened because of a huge crashing wave down by the Bahamas.

What were the damages?
  •  There were many damages. Homes were destroyed, people, animals, and fish were killed as well. Mangrove trees on about 70,000 acres of land were destroyed. This disaster was a lot like Hurricane Katrina.

Could this disaster have been avoided?
  • This disaster could be avoided because a huge wave in the ocean, down by the Bahamas caused this wreckage and people should have advanced warning.

What has happened since the disaster?
  • Hurricane Andrew changed many people’s lives, people have changed. Many of the people who supported them are thanked, and the people of Hurricane Andrew are grateful to be alive, and to have had the support of policeman and women, firefighters, and hospitals.
