Introduction
  • What would you do if you were about to collide into a humongous iceberg? Well, 95 years ago this happened to about 2,222 people on April 14-15,1912.

Where did it happen?
  • The Titanic hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean.

When did it happen?
  • The Titanic sunk on April 14-15,1912.

How/Why did it happen?
  • The Titanic collided with an iceberg because it was traveling too fast for an area where there was a danger of icebergs. The Titanic was traveling about 21 knots (the highest speed for the Titanic) when lookouts sighted the iceberg.

What were the damages?
  • About 1,517 people died.

Could this disaster have been avoided?
  • Yes because the captain should have made sure that the Titanic wasn’t going that fast in iceberg territory.

What has happened since the disaster?
  • Scientists have gone down to the Titanic. They went into every room and in one room there was China that did not break and in some 1st class rooms were untouched nothing broke nothing moved.
