Seventh Grade General English is designed for seventh grade students. At the successful completion of the course, one credit, one half credit per semester, shall be earned. Students will continue to develop English skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, language concepts, and study skills.
The textbook for this course is Elements of Literature first course. This textbook will be checked out to each student. The book needs to be kept at home in a safe place for completing homework assignments. There is a class set; there is no need to carry books back and forth. Each student is responsible for the assigned book and may be charged a fee if the book is not returned in the same condition as it was assigned.
Course Content: Students will study the following: the sentence, the paragraph, the writing process, vocabulary, non fiction, note taking, study skills, the short story, the novel, and independent reading.

6. to continue to reinforce and assess outcomes targeted for mastery at previous levels.
