Bell Work and Weather Centers (BWWC):
The (BWWC's) will be given to the students in the form of a packet, with all of the pages for the quarter numbered and attached together. The back page of the packet has a page that will be used to track student progress throughout the quarter. Every three weeks an area is shaded in to indicate that this is a time for a periodic grade/progress update.
Current Events (CE's):
Students again have a standing assignment for sceintific current events each week. The change to this process will be that the (CE's) will be given to the students in the form of a packet, with all of the pages for the quarter attached together and numbered. The back page of the packet has a page that will be used to track student progress throughout the quarter. This page has spots to indicate that the student has the CE ready to hand in on time, that they presented it for extra credit, and/or that it was not ready on time and will be considered late for half credit. Every three weeks an area is shaded in to indicate that this is a time for a periodic grade/progress update.
On Friday's, five students names will be randomly drawn for an opportunity to present for extra credit. After those students have gone, it is opened up to as many volunteers as there is time left during the 10 minutes that we take on Friday's to present Current Events.
Late /Missing Work: Any work not finished by the given due date will be considered late, unless prior arrangements have been made or an IEP is in place. Typically 5 points will be deducted for late work. If it is a larger assignment or project that has been on going, 5 points a day may be deducted until a value of half credit has been reached. Work that has been missing or considered extremely late (more than two weeks old) will receive no more than half credit.
Students are able to pick up any missing work from the wall files, but are still asked to come in before or after school to discuss what they missed.
