Mission Statement
The goal of the reading teachers is to promote high levels of literacy and to develop the
lifetime reading habit in all Stapley students. We strive to awaken our students' desire to learn and to broaden their horizons through reading. To this end, students will explore literature of their choosing as well as learn the comprehension and critical thinking skills necessary to digesting and appreciating written material. By teaching students to be active, "strategic" readers, they will begin to make connections with the text, thus getting involved in what they read.
