Mission Statement

The mission of social studies in the Mesa Public Schools is to empower students to become effective and responsible citizens. Students must aquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to make responsible decisions affecting themselves and others. They must be informed, possess the skills to apply that knowledge, and develop a commitment to be actively involved in the learning and participatory processes of our society now and in the future.
