I have a strong bond with the Mesa Public School system as I am a product of it myself.  I attended Eisenhower Elementary School, Poston Junior High School, and Mountain View High School (Go Toros!)  I received my Bachelor's degree in English and my Master's degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University.  I have been teaching in Mesa for seventeen years, and I am proud to say I was one of the original staff of Stapley Junior High.

I have been married for eighteen years and have two sons, 12 and 15.  We have quite a menagerie of pets:  3 dogs, a tortoise, 56 chickens, 23 turkeys, and 2 miniature cows.  Needless to say, it's quite a zoo around my house.

I enjoy traveling, writing, reading, cooking, swimming, hiking, and playing games with my family.  One of the passions in my life is teaching.  I feel a huge sense of accomplishment when a lesson goes well, students learn, and they enjoy being in my class as much as I do.

I teach English because I love literature and writing.  I can't think of a subject more important than learning to communicate our sense of purpose both orally and in writing.  As a teacher, I hope to pass along my passion for the English language.
