Biography

Dear Parents and Students,

It's hard to believe that the summer has come to an end!  I hope that you had some fun over the summer and
got away from the heat for a little while.  We have all returned to work hard in the up coming year.  I have a lot
of fun plans for us this year and promise we will learn along the way, too.   The units will include:  grammar,
writing skills using Step up to Writing and the Six Traits, paragraphs, essays, poetry, short stories, and a novel study.  All of the units 8th grade will contribute to improving each student's literacy. Now,
I would like to share alittle about myself with you, so we can get to know each other better.

I was born in Dallas, Texas and lived there until I was three years old.  I then moved to Minnesota, and finally
to Illinois where I grew up.  I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I have an emphasis in language arts, Spanish and middle school.  I have taught for six years at Stapley teaching
in the English Department.  I am very excited to be here at Stapley Junior High.  This is an awesome school
with an incredible staff.  I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with all of you.

Please know that my door is always open.  I want to work with you to be a positive influence on your family.
If you suspect there may be a problem, have questions or special concerns, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sarbo
