  • operate the enlarger to make photographic contact sheets, proofs, and prints.
  • apply the elements and principles of design to visual images in photography
  • develop an aesthetic awareness, the ability to discuss, understand and critique photographs
  • explore historical changes in photography, as well as accomplishments of famous photographers

Grades for this class are based on projects, written work, and participation.  Projects will be graded on the following criteria:

  • effort
  • quality
  • following direction
  • turned in on time
  • written assignments
  • tests
  • occasional special projects /assignments

Students are required to be working and participating in class. There is a zero tolerance for playing around/disrupting other students/teacher in class.  If a student is excessively idle, disruptive, destructive, or fails to follow directions properly they will be removed from class and a parent/guardian will be contacted immediately. After being contacted additional disciplinary actions may follow by administration.  Please consult the Stapley Student Handbook for more information on school discipline.

I do not take away points for excused absences.  Students are given two days for each excused day they are absent to make up the missed/incomplete work.  However, there may be activities/projects that can not be made up outside of the class.  Students can arrange with me to make up assignment/projects before or after school. Advanced notice is always appreciated.

If there is anything that you might think of to help me with your student, please feel free to call me at 480-472-2714.  Also, if you student has not paid their lab fee of $15.00, please do so immediately in the bookstore.
