| SJHS HOME | SJHS DIRECTORY | MPS HOME Student Behavior and Responsibility Guidelines Tardiness: Please do not be late to class. BE IN YOUR SEAT when the second bell rings. All your errands should be done before then: sharpening pencils, bathroom and water breaks, going to your locker, etc. Without a valid hall pass, being late to class will earn you 30 minutes of after school detention each time you are late! Behavior: All school and district rules apply! Students will not prevent me from teaching or other students from learning. Please keep hands, feet, and negative comments to yourself. Treat everyone and everything with respect. Listening/Participation: We are here to learn. When I am talking, face me and listen quietly. If you have a question, comment, or answer, please raise your hand and wait to be called on. Don't yell out answers - everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in class discussions. Leaving your seat: During instructional time, please do not leave your seat to throw something away, talk to friends, sharpen your pencil, etc. without my permission. Bathroom Pass: Bathoom breaks need to be taken before school, at lunch, or in between classes. Please reserve your bathroom requests to when they are absolutely necessary. Homework: All homework will have an assigned due date. I do not accept late homework. If there is some extraordinary circumstance that prohibitied you from doing your homework, an extension will be granted only if I receive a phone call or detailed note from a parent/guardian. Absent work: You have 2 days after your return to school to turn in absent work. If you have been absent for an extended period of time, we will plan due dates for missing work. Remember: it is your responsibility to find out what work is missing. Extra Help: I am here to help you succeed. If you need extra help, please come see me and we can make arrangements to meet before or after school. I'm looking forward to a really wonderful year together!!
