Computer Essentials (CB02) is a one-semester course which is intended to teach you how to:

  • learn basic computer knowledge using Microsoft XP
  • learn to type by touch both alpha and numeric keys
  • learn basic word processing skills using Microsoft Word
  • be able to correctly format business/personal business letters, memos, tables, and reports using MLA format
  • be able to type a minimum 20 wpm with three errors
  • improve language skills
  • become familiar with Excel, PowerPoint and Paint programs

Computer TCIS [Technology Integrations Into Core Curriculum Standards]
(CB03)
is a one-semester course which is intended to teach you how to:

  • recognize basic computer components and their functions within a computer system

  • improve data entry skills using the keyboard or voice activation

  • create and enhance graphics using Windows 98 Paint and graphic tools

  • create and edit documents using Microsoft Office XP, Word 2002

  • create and edit spreadsheets and graphs using Microsoft Office XP,
    Excel 2002

  • create simple presentation projects using Microsoft Office XP,
    PowerPoint 2002

  • develop the ability to do simplified Internet searches
