Mrs. Annette Mahan
I have been a speech-language pathologist for twenty-one years. During that time, I have enjoyed working for a private practice, in the hospital setting and in the school setting, mostly at Carson Junior High. I believe that "Communication is the Heart and Soul of Human Existence," therefore, I feel it is very important for my students to become the best communicators they can be.
The speech and language therapy program at Carson is conducted in the class rooms with a small amount of students attending speech therapy in the "Speech Room" at various times throughout the day. Communication rules are implemented during therapy to encourage students to communicate fully, correctly, and intelligently.
Students' progress is monitored and goals are established during development of the IEP, including the parent's and classroom teacher's input to establish goals for each student on an individual basis.
