Mrs. Jessica Pierce

Biography

I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.  I moved out to Arizona after I graduated high school to go to Arizona State University.  I graduated from ASU in 2004 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  I started my career as a second grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School in the Mesa Public School District.  I then went back to get my MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Language and Literacy from ASU in 2007.  I acquired my reading endorsement while obtaining my Master's Degree.  I also have my English as a Second Language Endorsement.  After three years at Jefferson, I decided that I wanted to teach reading, and I moved to Taylor Jr. High School.  I taught reading to 7th, 8th, and 9th graders for three years at Taylor.  This will be my sixth year teaching 7th and 8th grade reading at Carson Junior High.
