Welcome to Carson Junior High School! It is always wonderful to meet and greet new students and parents every year at school. This is my sixth year as a full-time teacher with Mesa Public Schools.

Mesa Public Schools has been a hometown district for me for a lot of years.  As a child, I attended Longfellow Elementary.  From there, I went on to the former Mesa Junior High school.  Finally, I went to and graduated from Mesa High School (MHS) in 1981. While at MHS, I was afforded the privilege of attending Mesa Community College to work towards my degree.

To continue, my own children attended Jordan Elementary, Hendrix Junior High, and Skyline High School. While my children attended Jordan, I began working with students - first as a parent volunteer in the classroom, and then as an Instructional Aide in the MOMD and MIMD classrooms as well as a Crossing Guard and Playground Aide.  During the time I worked at Jordan, I returned to Arizona State University to earn my Bachelor's in Special Education and finally my Masters in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, Gifted, and English.  In December 2020, I earned my second Masters in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University's satellite campus.

I am a highly qualified teacher who loves to see students learn and succeed.  This is year 18 for me in education.  As I mentioned earlier, I entered the education field through my dedication to volunteering in the classroom.  This was where the initial desire was born to work with students and awaken the longing for them to be successful with learning.  After all, I had a teacher encourage me to complete my degree and enter the education field.

This is just a small snapshot of who I am as a teacher.  The one thing I do well is work persistently and consistently. So, if you would like to have your student stay after school for tutoring, please let me know and I will make arrangements to help your child be successful in school!
