Biography

I am very excited to be at Carson Junior High School and teach the Project Lead The Way courses. I have my science degree from ASU and my masters degree from NAU .  I have  been teaching and mentoring various aspects of robotics, electronics, and building since 2009. Additionally, I taught nearby at Kino Junior High school were I taught 8th Grade science for two years as well as the after school STEM club (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Both myself and my three children are successful products of the Mesa Public School District.  Mesa is such a wonderful place to learn, live and meet new friends that after I married my college sweetheart and spent five years in Texas, we decided to move back to Mesa to make this our home.

I  attended both ASU (for my degree in Secondary Education in Biology) and NAU (for my Masters Degree in Education Leadership). I became certified to teach in 1989 and have been active as an educator in numerous capacities. My love for both inspiring students and for all the types of sciences are what make teaching so very worth while to me.  I strive to make each student successful and have them realize learning is for life not just during school.

This school year I will again be offering after school robotics for both Lego Robots and for VEX Robots.  Students do not need to be enrolled in my classes to participate and they do not need to already know how to build or computer code the robots... that is my job to help them learn and get better with problem based activities!  7th and 8th grade Girls and boys are welcomed to come after school from 4-5:30 but must have a way to get home afterwards because buses will not be available.  Students should come to room 115 to get permission forms.
