Summer School 2008
Carson will offer two site-based summer school programs this year.

6 th Graders (coming to junior high in August)

 

Summer PRIDE is for incoming 6th grade students who will be making the transition to 7th grade next year. This is a fun, hands-on program that will help students make a smoother transition to the junior high school. The dates are Monday, June 2 thtough Thursday,
June 26. All classes are Monday – Thursday. The time is 8:00 am – 12:00 noon. Transportation will be provided. Free breakfast and lunch will also be provided. There is no cost to parents for this program.

7 th and 8 th Graders

 

Summer TEAM-UP is for current 7th and 8th grade students at Carson who need some additional support or remediation to help them be successful for the next school year. The dates are Monday,
June 2 through Thursday, June 26. All classes are Monday – Thursday. The time is 8:00 am – 12:00 noon. Transportation will be provided. Free breakfast and lunch will also be provided. There is no cost to parents for this program.

Students and parents can gain Senior High Summer School information 24/7 by accessing the CommEd website at www.mpsaz.org/commed or the CommEd automated Phone line at 480 472-0519. First Semester classes are June 2- June 20, 2008. Second semester classes are June 23-July 11, 2008. For both semesters, the AM Session time is 7:30 am -12:00 noon, Monday – Friday. The PM Session time is 12:30 – 5:00 pm, Monday- Friday. Cost is $150.00 per class per semester. Check the website for class offerings.

  The Senior High Summer School registration process will begin on Monday, March 24, 2008. Students can register 1) at the Carson bookstore, 2) by phone (480-472-7237) between 8:00am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, 3) by fax (480 472-0107) or 4) by walking into the Community Education office at 546 N. Stapley Drive.
East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT)
  Summer School classes at EVIT are designed to introduce students
to employment options and job tasks related to a chosen career field.
Classes still remain technically and academically challenging. EVIT is located at 1601 West Main Street in Mesa (between Alma
School and Dobson roads on Main Street, next to Wal Mart)
  Students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grades
may take Exploration Summer School. Students entering 10th, 11th or 12th grades may attend Summer School Classes in a variety of subjects. First Session Summer School begins Monday June 2, 2008 and ends Thursday, June 26, 2008. Second Session Summer school begins Monday July 7, 2008 and ends Thursday, July 31, 2008. Classes are from 7:30am until 12:00pm, Monday through Thursdays.
