Employees nominate volunteers for outstanding service to students and staff in schools or departments.
Winners are honored at the second board meeting of the month during the school year.
They receive certificates, tributes, key chains and mugs from Mesa Public Schools.
They receive $50 gift cards and books titled "The Heart of a Volunteer" from the Mesa Foundation for Educational Excellence.
