Public Records Request

You may request public records from Mesa Public Schools. Many documents are readily available on this website.

Please note that student records are not available as public records because they are protected by federal privacy laws.

If you would like a copy of records, you may be asked to submit a written request. Complete the attached Public Records Request and send by e-mail to info@mpsaz.org or by fax to (480) 472-0227. The following information should also be included:

  • Name
  • Organization
  • Address
  • Daytime phone and e-mail
  • Indicate if the request is for private use or commercial use (will be printed or used elsewhere)

Under the public records law, however, the district is not obliged to create a new document or record in response to a request for public records. Likewise, the district will not acquire computer software for the sole purpose of providing access or delivery of public records that are accessible by other means.

There may be a fee to cover the cost of reproduction, including copier expenses, supplies and staff time associated with the request. 

Noncommercial fees

  • 25 cents per page of a paper copy of a public record 
  • $5 per videotape, digital video disc (DVD), or compact disc (CD) of a public record

Commercial fees

  • $1 per page of a paper copy of a public record
  • $5 per videotape, digital video disc (DVD), or compact disc (CD) of a public record
  • $100 per paper or electronic copy of a competitive bid file
