2018-19 compensation plan approved

Ignacio Valdez, custodian at Robson Elementary SchoolAt the May 22 regular meeting, the Governing Board approved the 2018-19 compensation plan for all employee groups. Highlights of the plan include:

Certificated employees (MEA)

  • 10% salary increase based on current employee contract
  • New hire base salary increase: $41,850 for teachers, $58,900 for SLPs, $61,100 for psychologists

Classified employees (MESPA)

  • Minimum 5% hourly rate increase
  • $.50- to $.80-per-hour increase based on years of service

Classified employees will receive the greater of a 5% hourly rate increase or the calculated per-hour increase based on the classified compensation plan. Please review the following to learn more about classified compensation for 2018-19:
