Attendance

Consistent school attendance is vital for students to receive the quality instruction we provide and for students to have the opportunity to practice skills with instructional support.  The Elementary Students’ Information and Guidelines booklet, provided to each family at the beginning of the year, outlines Arizona mandatory attendance guidelines.  Parents are responsible for notifying the school attendance office 472-4068 when you child will be absent for any reason.  Attendance is monitored and letters are sent to parents throughout the school year at 5, 10, 15 and 18 absences, whether they are excused or unexcused.  If a student’s absences exceed the limit for attendance at any point in the school year, court action may be imposed.  Tardies are also part of the attendance record.  Students are considered late if they arrive at school or class after the 8:25 bell.  At Crismon, students will receive a learning note and serve recess/lunch time in our Alternative Learning Classroom for every 5 tardies in a semester.  We are working to teach students life skills.  It is important for adults to be at work daily and arrive on time.  Students can practice this with their “job”, which is to be a learner.
