Biography

I was born and educated in Australia, before studying for a year in Japan and later a year in Scotland. I obtained both my Liberal Arts degree and my Law degree from the University of Sydney, Australia.  Subsequently, I graduated with my Masters degree in English Literature from University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Here in the USA, I obtained a Post Baccalaureate in Elementary Education from Rio Salado College, as well as an endorsement specifically in Early Childhood Education.

The 2018-19 school year marks my sixteenth year as a first grade teacher at Crismon, and I truly enjoy this age group. They have such a keen desire to learn and are enthusiastic about everything. I just love first grade!

I am a huge fan of the brilliant children's writer, Dr. Seuss, and have an extensive library of his works in my classroom. I truly believe in his famous quote: "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." I am looking forward to reading and learning with my students this year, knowing that they will be going places!

I am very happily married with two wonderful children, one a post-graduate student at University of Oregon and the other a senior at Barrett the Honors College, at ASU. Our family also includes two small dogs and two cats.

I enjoy taking photographs, traveling, and reading in my spare time.

Welcome Letter here.
