CB02 Computer Essential Course Offerings

Mesa Public Schools is committed to providing a variety of educational opportunities to all seventh graders who are required to complete the district's CB02 Computer Essentials course. To find the curriculum outline for the course, please click here

Traditional

Students will be enrolled in CB02 Computer Essentials course during their academic school year and will complete the course requirements in the Fall or Spring semester of their 7th grade year. The class will be taught on the student's home campus by a certified CTE computer/business teacher. This course will be a technology hybrid, where course content will be delivered through an online learning management system, but with the instruction and guidance of a classroom technology teacher.  

Mesa Distance Learning Program

The Mesa Distance Learning Program (MDLP) gives students the option to complete CB02 through an 100% online classroom environment. This course will have an online instructor who will facilitate the course via the Internet. This course option is for students who do not have enough room in their schedule during their academic school year to complete the course requirements. There is a charge for enrolling in CB02. The course must be completed by December 1, 2016. Students who do not finish or fail the course will be enrolled in the traditional class in the Spring semester. MDLP course begins May 22. Summer School

Some junior high schools are offering CB02 as a summer school class June 1 through June 26th. This course option is for students who do not have enough room in their schedule during their academic school year to complete the course requirements.  Absences are limited to two days. If more than two days are missed, the student will be dropped from the course. Students are expected to remain in class during it's entirety. Students missing more than 20 minutes of an instructional hour will accrue one absence. Students who do not adhere to the attendance policies will be dropped from the class and enrolled in CB02 during the academic school year. Space and site locations are limited. To check campus availability and enroll in summer school, students will need to contact their home campus.
