Dobson's CTE CPU & Game Simulation Programming Team finish Second in State!

Congratulations to Jacob Janes and Alex Garcia for receiving second place recognition at FBLA State Leadership Conference. 30 plus teams competed in the event Computer Game and Simulation Programming.Their game was submitted two weeks prior to the event for scoring and the team then presented their game creation before a panel of judges at FBLA State.

This qualifies them to attend Nationals in Anaheim, CA. the end of June. Congratulations! Dobson is proud of you

Three tech students, Evan Hughes, Luis Valenzuela, & William Evans competed in Computer Problem Solving and Networking Concepts and are waiting for the results of their tests.

Peter Dilley & Kylie Chung Perform at the AMEA All-State Music Festival

Congratulations Peter Dilley and Kylie Chung on participating in the AMEA All State Festival Ensembles this last weekend on April 6-8.

Both Peter and Kylie represented Dobson throughout the weekend and performed beautifully in Gammage Auditorium on Saturday.

Dobson Students and Bands Earn Top Marks at ABODA Area Concert Festivals

Congratulations to the following Dobson students who auditioned into the 2017 All State Band: Amber Budinger, clarinet; Taigen Williams, tuba; Michael Duran, percussion. Alex Morgan, euphonium is an alternate. 

Congratulations to the following concert bands on their performances at the ABODA Area Concert Festival: Concert Winds -- Excellent; Symphonic Winds -- Superior; Wind Symphony -- Superior with Distinction. We are proud of all of the Bands at Dobson High School!

Rimington Harris Receives Top Awards at DECA State Competition

DECA State Competition was February 26th-28th in Tucson with over 2000 students competing.

Dobson DECA was represented by 15 students competing in various marketing role-play and exam competitions.

Our big winner was Rimington Harris. Rimington participated in the section of Sports/Entertainment Marketing and received two award medals. He received one medal for the highest role-play score (100%) in his section of 20 students and another medal for receiving Top 10 of 140 students (role-play and exam scores combined). Congratulations Rimington!

Dobson Questbridge Finalists placed at America's Top Schools

Congratulations to Jimmy Nguyen, Yesheng Chen, Monique Le Tran, and Randy Hoang as QuestBridge Finalists. These students won scholarships from some of America's top schools: Dartmouth College, Grinnell College, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Southern California respectively.

Dobson Percussion Ensembles Receives Superior with Distinction Rating at the AZPAS Spring Festival

On Saturday, March 25th, the Percussion Ensembles traveled to ASU for the AZPAS Spring Festival. Both groups were adjudicated by college percussion professors from NAU and U of A.

We are happy to announce that the ensambles received straight Superior ratings. The ABODA term for this is Superior with Distinction

Dobson's All-Girl Stunt Team Places 4th at Nationals!

Congratulations to Dobson's All Girl Stunt Team.  The girls placed 4th out of 54 teams at USA Nationals held in Anaheim CA.

    Rob Lubbers Recognized as the KNIX Larry H Miller Teacher of the Week

    Congratulations to Mr. Rob Lubbers as the KNIX Larry H Miller Teacher of the Week!  Mr. Lubbers, Band teacher and Performing Arts Chair, was surprised by KNIX radio personality and presented with a plaque, $300 in cash and a pizza party for his class as the selected teacher of the week.

    Mr. Lubbers not only leads our Performing Arts department to numerous state and national recognition, but he is credited to bringing United Sound to Dobson which epitomizes Dobson Pride!
