A Fall Picture of Me with my Daughter and Son

I am a native to Arizona. I have 2 beautiful children and a husband of 10 years. I am an avid runner and still train and compete in 5ks, 10ks, and occasional half marathons. Looking forward to racing a Half Ironman this Fall.

I have worked with students in general/special education settings as well as extra curricular activities for the past 10 years. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in October 2015 with my Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education. I started teaching at Dobson in January 2016.

In January of 2016 I was hired on at Dobson and have had the privilege of working with students who have specific learning disabilities (SLD) in the academic area of math. The additional support that is offered during inclusion classes allows for more one on one attention that students with SLD need in order to make a connection or understanding of the material being presented. I look forward to the challenges that arise as a teacher. I live for the 'Ah-ha' moments that I see when students make the curriculum connection on their own.

Having had relatives with special needs, I hold a special place in my heart for students with special needs. I have been able to make many friends in the special education community and enjoy every minute of it. I am thrilled to be a Mustang and excited to work with the students and staff.

This year I will be working within Study Skills Classrooms, as well as Life Skills, and two inclusion math classes. I am the Head Girls Cross Country coach as well as the Head Girls Track Coach.
