Señorita Cinthia Merino
I was born in Ozumba, Mexico a little town located southeast of Mexico City. However, I was raised in Mesa. I grew up in a big family with four sisters and three brothers. I enjoy reading and hiking in my spare time. I have begun to travel and love visiting historical sites. My favorite trip has been visiting the pyramids in Guatemala and the Yucatan peninsula.
I enjoy exploring how people acquire language and how language constantly evolves. I grew up speaking and reading Spanish. In high school I took Japanese and continued to study it college. As a college student I was able to take Portuguese and Italian classes. I would like to continue with my language education so that I when I travel I will be able to communicate in the local languages.
This is my second year teaching AVID and I am excited to keep working with the Sophomore class!
