Coach Tykoski is a 1998 graduate of Hillsdale College located in Hillsdale, Michigan.  He was a four year letter winner on the baseball team and remained his 5th year as an assistant coach.  After graduation, Dave moved to Arizona and began teaching and coaching football at Hendrix Junior High.  He also served as the assistant coach for the varisty baseball team here at Dobson.  After the 2002 season, Coach Tykoski was promoted to Head Coach where he has served for the past eight seasons.  During the 2009 season, Coach Tykoski notched his 100th career win and was selected a second time to coach the 5A I South All Star Team (2006 and 2009).  Following the 2014 season and a third trip to coaching the 5A All Star team, Coach Tykoski stepped down as the head baseball coach at Dobson and accepted a position as the infield coach at Gateway Community College. 

During his time here in Arizona, Coach Tykoski has coached with several different organizations including an instructor for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University and in the summer of 2008, a scout/evaluator and Trials Coach for the 16U USA Baseball National Team that took the gold medal in the Pan American Games.  During June of 2009, Dave was again selected as a member of the USA Baseball 16U Championships scout team which selects 36-40 of the top players from around the country to participate in the USA Baseball 16U Trials. Since 2009, Dave has remained a scout for USA Baseball's 14U and 17U National Team Development Programs, 15U National Team, and the National Team Identification Series (13U, 14U, and 17U) at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

In 2009,  Dave was honored by his high school and its community as he was inducted into the Monroe Jefferson Athletic Hall of Fame.

Dave is married to his wife Jessi and they have two children, Madison, 10 and McKenna, 8.
